How to Play
Pieces combine as they move.
A combined piece can move as either piece.
Combined pieces can split.
If taken or promoted the combined piece leaves the board.
That’s pretty much it!
As you would for regular chess.
(note: the standard set includes 3 extra Queens which start on the sideline and are brought on when a promotion occurs.)
The goal is to checkmate the opponents king.
Apply the rules of chess , with these new moves ...
RULE 1 - Combine Pieces:
Use a traditional Chess move to land on the square of another piece of the same colour. These pieces are now combined. This is a move.
Example: Move the Bishop onto the Rook's square. The combined piece is now the “Biook” (Bishop + Rook). Now it is your opponents move.
hint: Start combining from your very first move (example a Bishop on the diagonal landing on either of the Pawn's squares).
There is no limit to the number of times a player can combine their pieces.
RULE 2 - Move Combined Pieces:
A combined piece can move as either of it's joined pieces.
Example: The combined Bishop + Rook (Biook) can move as either the Bishop OR the Rook.
hint: move a combined Bishop and Pawn (Biawn) forward one step. The Biawn has changed the colour of it's square.
RULE 3 - Split Combined Pieces:
Split by moving ONE of the joined pieces away individually using their traditional move.
Example: The combined Bishop + Rook (Biook) can split by moving EITHER the Bishop OR the Rook away individually.
(note: a piece splitting from a combined piece can combine with another piece.)
RULE 4 - Promote Combined Pieces:
If a combined piece containing a pawn makes it to the far side of the board it is promoted to a Queen. Both the joined pieces leave the board. 3 extra Queens included with set.
Example: The combined Rook + Pawn (Roawn) reaches the far side of the board and promotes to a Queen.
RULE 5 - Capture Combined Pieces:
A combined piece is defined as a single piece, so if captured the combined piece leaves the board, i.e. both the joined pieces.
Example: The Rook takes the combined Queen + Knight (Quight). The combined piece (Quight) leaves the board.
